Yellow Weather Warning in Effect for Heavy Rain in South-West England Over Easter Weekend

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain set to affect Cornwall, Plymouth, and much of Devon during the Easter weekend. From 6pm on Good Friday, April 18, through to 9am on Saturday, April 19, forecasters are predicting torrential downpours which could lead to travel disruptions and potential flooding. Residents have been warned that properties may face flooding and power interruptions, and drivers should expect longer journeys due to spray and flooding on the roads. The expected rainfall could reach up to 75mm in some areas, particularly in higher grounds like Dartmoor. As an alternative to this weather backdrop, much of southern and eastern England may experience milder and sunnier conditions throughout the same weekend. However, motorists and rail travelers have been cautioned about potential disruptions as over 300 engineering projects are set to close several railway lines and create congestion on major roads.
