Texas Central Railway Project Uncertainty Persists Amid Funding and Regulatory Challenges

Further complicating matters, Jent’s testimony did little to assuage lawmakers’ demands for transparency about the project's financial health, leading to subpoenas for more in-depth data on the project's organization and financing strategy. Notably, the project has yet to gain local approval for a terminal in Houston and is facing opposition from communities who have already resisted land seizures needed under eminent domain.
