Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 Set to Premiere on October 29, 2025, with Exciting New Content

Lucasfilm has officially announced that 'Star Wars: Visions Volume 3' will debut on Disney+ on October 29, 2025. This highly anticipated installment of the anthology series was unveiled at the Star Wars Celebration in Japan, where fans were treated to a sneak peek of what's in store. Following the success of its predecessors, Volume 3 features nine animated shorts by a diverse group of Japanese animation studios, including notable returnees like Kamikaze Douga, Trigger, and Production I.G. Each studio brings its unique artistic flair to the galaxy far, far away, and some fan-favorite stories are set to continue, including sequels to 'The Duel,' 'The Village Bride,' and 'The Ninth Jedi'. Director Takanobu Mizuno announced that 'The Duel: Payback' will see the return of the enigmatic Ronin, who continues his journey against Sith adversaries. Notably, the panel revealed that the character will engage with a Jedi Grandmaster, suggested to have significant ties to his past, which heightens the narrative stakes. In addition, the series will introduce 'Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi,' an extended format spin-off that expands the story of Kara, a character who debuted in the prior short. These new developments indicate Lucasfilm's commitment to deepening its narrative universe through anime, thus attracting both anime enthusiasts and long-time Star Wars fans alike. The excitement surrounding the special presentation includes teasers for a visually stunning umbrella lightsaber, further promising innovative designs in this installment. With a blend of returning talent and new studios like Wit Studio and Polygon Pictures added to the roster, fans can anticipate a rich variety of styles and storytelling methods. The overall positive reception of the series demonstrates an effective strategy from Lucasfilm, marrying beloved lore with fresh creativity and expansive storytelling formats. As we gear up for the release, it will be fascinating to see how these narratives evolve on screen and how they succeed in connecting various threads across the Star Wars universe, likely inspiring discussions within fandom about the direction of upcoming projects.
