Intermittent Fasting Proves More Effective for Weight Loss than Daily Calorie Restriction, Study Finds

Specialists from the Mayo Clinic warn that individuals who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have certain health conditions, such as eating disorders, should avoid fasting and consult healthcare providers before starting any new diet regimen. Professor Victoria Catenacci, one of the study's authors, expressed excitement over the findings, emphasizing that intermittent fasting presents a viable alternative for those struggling with daily calorie restrictions. While previous research often linked weight loss success to more gradual approaches, the 4:3 fasting schedule offers a balanced middle ground, providing flexibility and feasible adherence for participants. Research continues to delve into the metabolic changes induced by various fasting periods, with questions remaining about health benefits beyond weight loss.
