Fright Factory Reveals Anticipated Releases
During the recent CCXP Mexico event, Blumhouse founder and CEO Jason Blum marked the company's 15th anniversary with an exciting announcement, showcasing a series of highly awaited sequels in the horror genre. The unveiled projects include THE BLACK PHONE 2 and FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S 2, set to hit theaters on October 17 and December 5 respectively.
Return of The Grabber
Continuing the narrative from its predecessor, BLACK PHONE 2 is directed by Scott Derrickson, who co-wrote the script with C. Robert Cargill. This sequel promises a gripping storyline as it follows the malevolent character The Grabber, portrayed once again by Ethan Hawke, who is set to seek vengeance on Finn, played by Mason Thames, by also threatening the safety of Finn's younger sister, Gwen (portrayed by Madeleine McGraw). The cast further includes Oscar nominee Demián Bichir as a camp supervisor, alongside familiar faces like Jeremy Davies returning as Finn and Gwen’s father.
